What is Ceramic Colors Dye?

Different dyes
There are various kinds of ceramic colors dyes, including plant dyes, such as alizarin dye, and indigo; animal dyes, such as cochineal. Synthetic dye is also called artificial dyes, mainly from coal tar distillation out (or oil processing) by chemical processing, commonly known as "coal tar dyes".
Ceramic colors
As ceramic colors do not need to rely on other agents, it can be directly dyed cotton, hemp, silk, in ceramic glazes and other fibers. The dyeing method is simple, complete chromatography, and low cost. But the fastness to washing and light fastness is poor, such as the use of appropriate post-processing methods, can improve the fastness of dyes. Insoluble dye is essentially the two dye intermediates, in fabric via coupling and generation of insoluble pigments. As it is in the process of printing and dyeing with ice, so it called ice dyes. Because of its resistance to washing, light fastness is generally better than chromatography, and ceramic colors are rich, low price, so it is widely used for cellulose fiber fabric dyeing and printing. This kind of dye of reactive dyes and reactive dyes is 50 times just developed a new type of dye. Its molecular structure containing one or more active genes, under appropriate conditions, and the fiber chemical reactions occur, forming a covalent bonding. It can be used in cotton, linen, silk, ceramic glazes, viscose, nylon and other textile dyeing.
Vat dyes used in ceramic glazes
Vat dyes insoluble in water, in an alkaline solution with the aid of a solution dyeing, dye oxidation back into insoluble dye and firmly fixing the fiber. Because of its stronger alkaline, generally it is not suitable for ceramic glazes, silk protein fiber dyeing. This class of dyes chromatography complete, bright color, good color fastness, but the price is high, and not easy to homogeneously staining. Vat dyes by the vat dyes made of sodium sulfate, becomes able to direct water soluble dyes, so called vat dyes, available for a variety of fiber dyeing. This class of dyes chromatography complete, bright color, dyeing is convenient, good color fastness. But its price is even higher than vat dyes, while the affinity was lower than that of vat dyes, so generally applies only to the light colored fabrics. Sulfur dye is insoluble in water and most organic solvents, but can be dissolved in sodium sulfide solution, dissolved directly dyed fiber. Because of the dye liquid is too strong, it is not suitable for protein fiber dyeing. This class of dyes chromatography is in low prices, good color fastness, but the light is not bright.
